9.00 (very good) A great action-filled, paranormal story of Ichigo Kurosaki and his second 'life' as a Shinigami. A great series well exceeding 200+ episodes, it's become a popular favorite in the Shounen Jump series. A gret aray of characters and deisgns packed along with humor, drama, and action.

Recommended for anyone who enjoys a good shounen series with even better characters.

Death Note

8.00 (good) Light Yagami, ready to cleanse the world of its evil with the power of the shinigami; the Death Note. Along his journey a famous detective, L, challenges his ways of 'justice' and on goes a fight back and fourth of the minds, only one coming out as the winner and alive.

A decent series, the artwork and detail are stunning. The story doesn't take long to grow stale after the death of many characters that made the plot then takes a complete lead of chaos. It had a strong start but by mid series it loses it's fire quicker than a doused campfire. The characters are enjoyable and it's suspense to see the result of each characters actions but after awhile some may not even care, I was one of them :/ Skipping to the end it was fitting but I feel a tad disappointed by the plots progression. If nothing else you have awesome visuals and characters.

8.00 (good) This anime has some charm from it's animation exceeding the original manga of the bat and for the interesting past/history of the Souma family. If you like mary-sues mixed with hormonal boys then this is the anime for you.

The best part of this anime is indeed the mysterious Souma characters and their abilities to turn into their Zodiac sign by being hugged by anyone of the opposite gender. Sure, it's not convenient cold/hot water Ramna has but it does cause some problems down the road especially since it's a family secret kept on the DL from the outside world. This is where our main girl comes in when she finds out after being invited to stay at the Souma estate. Tohru is so mary-sue perfect and lacks the most character development but her barely tapped past does give the anime its name. Despite Tohru's perfect personality it doesn't take away from the series and may enhance it for some.

The series stops story progression somewhere after volume 8-9 so if you can't get enough the manga ends after a whopping number of 23 volumes. So, if transforming people being sucked in by the light of a homeless girl is something you like then please feel free to watch. It won't be a waste of your time and I'm sure you'll get a few laughs and tears along the way.

10.00 (excellent) In a world of equivalent exchange one must give to receive but what if the price is too much to bare? Full of action, drama, and discovery follow along with Edward Elric, along with his younger brother Alphonse Elric, to discover the truth behind 'the truth'. Nothing is gained without giving first.

The first FMA was gold [I completed it and saw the movie] and I'm enjoying Brotherhood. Classic series and highly recommended for any anime fan just prepare to have a box of tissues for either the first or currently running second one.

9.50 (excellent) A fantasy based anime that takes you on a journey with Kagome Higurashi, a normal high school student until being whisked away into Feudal Japan. Along with her is a temperamental half demon Inuyasha along with their friends to stop Naraku and collect all the shard of the Shikon no Tama along with the truth behind it all.

A great series though if you're a person who likes an anime to sum up in a matter of 30-50 episodes then it's not for you. It well exceeds 100 episodes [167] and is currently airing the Final Act of Inuyasha following the end of the series as the original manga has in Sept 09.

Full of fun with action, love, and betrayal. A plot that transcends the ages, I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys anime.

9.75 (excellent) A crazy yet adorable BL series with nice character and a interesting art style. IT focuses around three couples, each falling into their own category of relationship types. As unrealistic as most BL series may seem situation wise Junjou Romantica does go into realistic situations, concerns, and mindsets of what real gay couples may go through. Full of comedy, drama, and love it's a high recommended BL series.

9.75 (excellent) When you're one hell of a butler anything is possible. A wonder yet strongly BL hinted series about Ciel Phantomhive and the contract her has with his demon butler. Full of humor, occasional drama, dark themes, but a great plot with highly appealing animation and characters. In my opinion it was too short, that it's only real downfall for it could've reached more indepth with it's vast cast of characters and even the initial plot. It doesn't take away from the series however and though complete the manga is still going to keep fans satisfied.

Highly recommended any anime fan who has a love for Victorian themes/romantic goth, and overall the love for one hell of a butler.

Naruto

7.50 (good) "Dattebayou!"

Well said by the most famous anime ninja created. Naruto is a action packed anime full of amazing characters and powers all will enjoy. It starts out with a strong concept and great characters but unfortunately that doesn't lasts long. The plot is weak and under developed and lacks proper consistency or too much consistency with the main plot quickly shifting over to the emo-fied character, Sasuke Uchiha. The series should be named "Sasuke" instead of "Naruto" because it becomes more and more about him then any other character after a certain point in the series. It goes to being about Naruto's struggles and tribulations to being accepted and becoming a legendary ninja, Hokage, to getting back Sasuke from the bad guys even though he himself is quite content where he is. Even if interest is strong it can be killed instantly with the death of beloved favorites which happens more often than desired in Naruto's sequel: Naruto Shippudden that takes place two years after the original and is still running in Japan.

About the animation, be also very impressed and disappointed by it's work. It is well drawn to follow the original manga creator, Masashi Kishimoto's style BUT for many of the battles and selected episodes to match the transitions of fight scenes the styles change often and become weird and sometimes looking distorted compared to the pace that less action filled episodes have.

The best thing this series has going for it is the characters/character designs, the well developed and sometimes tear jerking backgrounds of each individual, and powers they process. If you're looking for kick ass ninjas in a well thought, compelling plot then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Ranma 1/2

Last Updated: Dec 06, 2009

9.50 (excellent) A really quirky and funny anime following the story of Ranma Saotome and his strange ability, or more like curse, to change into a girl by cold water and back to a boy from hot water. Very humorous with a side helping of fighting action and silliness. I haven't seen much of the anime and am still reading the manga but it's a must see/read, a nice oldie for anyone who enjoys out of the norm anime with wacky situations and characters.

Though I'm not too picky with dubs I reccomend the subbed version for anyone diving into Ranma 1/2. though not bad voice acting it's not good either and Ramna's female voice sounds like a straining female trying to sound like a boy. Besides that it's a recommended watch.

Rurouni Kenshin

10.00 (excellent) With a past that can't be erased like the lives that were taken by a sword can one atone for sin drenched in blood? Rurouni Kenshin is a milestone of action, suspense, and thrill as you follow Kenshin Himura, a past assassin branded Battousai, now a wanderer with a sword that protects, not kills.

A great series with action, humor, and lovable characters. A classic for old school anime fans and new ones a like to enjoy. Highly recommended and so are the OVA taking place before [Trust and Betrayal] and after [Reflection] the series.

Yuu Yuu Hakusho

10.00 (excellent) A action classic, the story follows the life and experiences of a deliquescent named Yusuke Urameshi. He dies and to regain his life he must undergo tests of character and endurance. Sums up about the first few episodes then the actually plot takes place blows away viewers with outrageous battles, techniques from Yusuke and crew and a pretty good plot.

Highly recommended if ghosts, demons, and fighting is your thing.
